Chickens

My mom and dad took us to the chicken show that was at the fairgrounds earlier this month. One of my mom's co-workers, Cami, had some of her chickens in the show. She told Skye she'd let her see one of them. Here she is with Cami's daughter, Sadie. She got to pet the chicken... hold the chicken...
and kiss the chicken!!!!
There was quite a variety of chickens and other birds.
There were fluffy chickens (Skye's favorite).
There were colorful chickens.
There were bizarre-looking chickens.
There were duck chickens. Ha ha--just kidding!
And there were normal chickens!
It ended up being a fun time for all!

Firefighter Skye

Every year Kaysville has a fire prevention/awareness week where they have fun things to look at and learn about at the fire station. This is Skye's second time going. Here she is with my mom by one of the big firetrucks. I'm not sure she was all that impressed with the fire trucks. I mean, she has already gone for a ride in one!

One of the firefighters dared me to climb up this ladder. I'm not really afraid of heights, but it was raining and slick! He was, of course, joking!
Skye was definitely more interested in her sucker than anything else that was going on.
At least until we came to this little fire truck! She had a blast driving this!

One of the highlights of the evening for me was seeing Lucy and Aryan (not sure if I spelled that right) Bredthauer. The last time I saw Larian was in fact at this very event three years ago. Skye was four months and I think Lucy was 10 months. I meant to get a picture with them and somehow forgot. I really regret it now. But I'm glad I have this one!

Silver Lake Continued

We had a great time at Silver Lake. Not only did we just happen to run into a friend of mine, we also saw some amazing fall colors and this moose! The trail goes all the way around the lake as well as some land. This moose was just standing there eating the whole time. It was pretty cool!

Look at those brilliant colors!

The moose again.

So beautiful!

Yellow often seems to be the most common color of changing leaves, so we were excited when we saw these red ones in the parking lot!
Our obsession to capture wildflowers in the summer has now turned to the autumn leaves. There will be more to come!!!

Silver Lake

A couple of weeks ago, we went up to Brighton and hiked around Silver Lake. I was so proud of Skye for making the whole mile all by herself. We took a ton of pictures so here are ones of us. I'll get more up later. Doesn't Skye look cute here?
Family pictures!

Skye with the stunning yellow aspens.
Lance found this awesome rock wall for the little one to climb up!

At the top!
And a couple of random, candid pictures...

Trying to Catch Up

I sooooo need to catch up on blogging. Skye is transitioning out of taking naps so much of my free time has been lost. To start off, here on some cute pictures of the little one. My awesome sister-in-law got this shirt for Skye. She's still a kitty fanatic so when I put the shirt on to see if it fit, she did not want to take it off!
Crazy hair!
We've met several of these little guys in our yard.
This is Skye's hand so you can see that they are pretty small.
One Sunday after church, we visited Lance's dad who's in an assisted living center. Skye had only seen him once or twice so I was a little nervous about how she'd react, but she was actually really excited about going to see Grandpa Stine. She smiled at him and shook his hand and had a fun time. I'm glad I got this picture of them together.

Kangaroo Zoo

My parents took Skye to Kangaroo Zoo on Monday, while Lance and I were in Moab. Here's a cute video my mom got of her on one of the slides.

I love how she says she wants to "do that again!"

Fishing with Daddy

Ever since my parents took Skye fishing, Lance has wanted to as well. One Saturday, we went to the fish farm in North Ogden. Lance was excited because he's only ever gone river fishing and only ever caught one fish! But Skye started out with the magic touch. She quickly caught three fish! Lance caught up to her, though one of his flopped back into the water.
Father and daughter fishing! Here's Skye with another one! I have some great video of her catching them, too, that I'll get around to posting sometime.
