Thursday morning, I went back up to Albion basin with my mom and Skye. We saw this deer eating just below the road. We also saw a marmut (I think) hanging out on a big rock, but it waddled away before I could get a picture of it.
Skye loved all the flowers. It was so cute seeing her play in them.

It's pretty awe inspiring to see a whole mountainside covered in yellow flowers.

I think this picture of my mom and Skye is so cute! I love it!

Can you spot Skye in the background?

We found this squirrel by the car before we left. I know you aren't supposed to feed wild animals, but it was so cute so my mom and Skye fed it some zuccini bread. It sure liked it! What fun, what a great adventure to go see the wildflowers.

This is what Skye likes to do with hair elastics. This is what I like to do with them. Actually, my mom is the one who did Skye's hair this time.
Here's Skye's new haircut. Actually, it's a couple weeks old by now, but it's pretty cute, huh?

Some Fun Pictures of Skye

Okay, so this first picture isn't so fun. A couple weeks ago, we were playing a game of chase when Skye smacked into a corner of the wall. It was pretty bad, poor thing. I felt so bad for her. Here's the lovely goose bump she got after. Playing dress-up.
One day, Skye had a ton of fun splashing in this puddle. I took a ton of pictures of her.

Summer Happenings

Lance's birthday was on the July 20. We started off the celebration with one of his favorite meals--black bean quesadillas. They are healthy and tasty! Then it was present time. As with most celebrations or functions, Skye kind of steals the spotlight. She was being cute and funny that night.
Peek-a-boo!
After dinner, we went to yogotogo, the new frozen yogurt shop in Kaysville. It is always delicious!
I think Skye enjoyed the yogurt (she took bites from everyone), but mostly she had fun climbing on the furniture. She loves that place!
A couple of months ago, our ward had a Luau. They had a pinata (don't aske me how those two things go together) for the kids and Skye loved it! So we told her we'd do one for Daddy's birthday. She couldn't wait to hit the thing!

She didn't like the blindfold, but she did have fun swinging at the pinata.
Daddy finally took a turn. After a couple of misses, he finally busted it with a good, hard blow.
It was filled with tootsie rolls, one of Skye's favorite candies. I thought she'd be more upset at the broken pinata, which had become a sort of toy to her. She named it Bullseye. However, she didn't seem too concerned. I guess she was more interested in all the candy loot!

We Finally Did it!

We finally bought a house! We moved just a few things in tonight. Skye's already found her favorite new play area under the stairs.
She was excited to play with some old toys she hasn't seen in months.
There will be more pictures to come...

Cute Things

Every age has it's fun, special, unique parts. Right now, Skye is at the age where she says the funniest and most random things. We were at the park one day when she said, "Mommy, I like you. I think you are really beautiful." I told her thank-you and that I thought she was beautiful, too, to which she responded, "Well, I am kinda pretty." Kids look the sweetest when they are sleeping.
I've often found that the times I'm most overcome with love and happiness for her are moments when I spy her sleeping--looking like a precious little angel.
Yesterday, my dad was singing "The ants go marching..." song. Like most kids, Skye is interested in bugs and likes watching them. So he asked her if she had seen the ants marching outside. She firmly responded, "No. Ants don't march. Only marching bands march. March, march, march." Kids are so logical!
Skye loves my mom's cats--maybe a little too much. Chiang here does a pretty good job putting up with the hugs, squeezes and harassment, but the other cat, Squeakers (or Freakers as Skye calls him) isn't as tolerant. My dad told Skye he and Cookie were going to the temple. She told him she was going to stay home with Mommy. Then she said, "The cat (meaning Freakers) is mad at the temple. He doesn't like the temple." Where did that come from?

One last funny story. In an effort to try and help Skye get over being picky when it comes to food, we have started putting several things on her plate--even things we know she may not eat, just so she can see it and have the option of trying it. I put some of the pasta salad we were eating on her plate. After awhile, she finally noticed it, picked it up, said, "I don't like this," then stuck it in her mouth! Unfortunately, it fell out of her mouth and she didn't try anymore. But it was funny that she would try it after saying she didn't like it. Kids are worth it just for the entertainment they provide!
